We’re excited to announce that Hamead Ahrary has officially taken on the role of Chief Sales Officer (CSO) for SEFE and Managing Director of SEFE Energy, effective 1 August 2024.
Hamead takes the reins from Matthias Peter, who successfully led SEFE’s sales businesses through a major transformation and alignment since taking on the role of CSO and MD in 2023.
A new chapter: welcoming our new CSO
Hamead joins the business as an experienced sales specialist whose professional career was strongly shaped by his 20-year long tenure with the German arm of SEFE Energy (then WINGAS). With a deep understanding of the European energy landscape, as well as knowledge and expertise on green energy and hydrogen topics, Hamead is perfectly placed to steer the direction of SEFE Energy as we continue to develop our capabilities for the future.
His recent role as Managing Director of Austrian company VERBUND Green Hydrogen GmbH will see him provide invaluable advice and insight for the SEFE team, as well as our customers, as SEFE further establishes its hydrogen and renewable energy business.

A major milestone in our transformation for the future
In June 2024, SEFE’s sales businesses across Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and France [MB1] came together under one common identity – SEFE Energy – with WINGAS GmbH being renamed to become SEFE Energy GmbH.
Separately, SEFE Energy and WINGAS were leaders within their respective energy markets. By combining our sales capabilities and knowledge, SEFE Energy can now offer a more consistent and efficient experience for customers, from small businesses to some of Europe’s largest multi-national organisations.
With his extensive experience, Hamead will play a vital role in positioning SEFE Energy as a strategic partner, helping organisations overcome their most significant challenges – from navigating the complexities of today’s dynamic energy market to taking their next steps on the path to net zero.

Matthias has been a driving force in developing and growing SEFE’s sales business for many years and was instrumental in shaping SEFE Energy to become what it is today. We wish Matthias all the best as he retires to start his next chapter.
